Ask one question. Compare two AI answers against your CSV rows.
Upload a CSV or TSV and ask a question. The tool compares one answer instructed to cite rows and calculations with one instructed not to cite specific rows. Check the evidence side by side before you use either answer. Giving your AI relevant data is part of keeping it grounded in the actual data.
Drop a CSV or TSV to compare two citation approaches
When you ask a question, your full file is sent to Loam. Up to the first 200 lines after the header are sent to the AI service that generates both answers.
Why your AI makes up numbers from your data
Your AI can help you explore a CSV or TSV, but a confident answer can still contain a calculation or context error. Evidence matters when a number will inform a decision. Requested row citations can give you a clear place to start checking the answer against your file.
Grounding gives your AI the relevant data and makes its evidence easier to inspect. This free comparison asks one answer to cite specific rows and calculations. It does not prove that either answer is correct, so check any cited evidence before relying on it. You can also chat with a CSV or TSV in the separate CSV and TSV tool. How to check an AI answer against your data
- Upload a CSV or TSV. You can also load the sample data to see the comparison right away.
- Ask a question that needs a calculation. Try a total, an average, a comparison, or "which region is highest?"
- Compare the two answers. Check any cited rows and arithmetic against your file. Do not assume either answer is right.
- Try a follow-up. Check whether each answer keeps the earlier context and continues to use the right rows.
