Uploading SQLite databases
Preview a SQLite database, choose one source table, and create a Loam Table.
What SQLite upload does
Loam treats SQLite as an uploaded file, not as a remote database connection. It reads the file without changing it, shows a bounded preview of its user tables and columns, then imports exactly one table into a new Loam Table.
Steps
- Open the dataset where the new Table should live and choose Add table.
- Choose a file ending in
.sqlite,.sqlite3, or.db. - Confirm the destination dataset and enter a new Table name.
- Choose Upload and inspect SQLite. Loam uploads the bytes through your authenticated workspace session before reading the catalog.
- Select one source table. When the database contains only one user table, Loam selects it automatically. Review the displayed column names, SQLite types, and nullability.
- Choose Create Table, wait for processing to finish, then open the new Table.
Security and limits
- Loam accepts uploaded bytes only, never a server path or file URL.
- The source database is opened read-only and is never modified.
- You select exactly one source table for each destination Table.
- The web upload limit is 100 MB.
Troubleshooting
If no tables appear, confirm that the file is a valid SQLite 3 database with at least one user table. SQLite internal tables are not available for import. If a selected table cannot be imported, review its column types and try a table with supported scalar values.
